Volunteering is not just for grandparents any more. Helping your local community has become high tech! Are you a whiz at making web pages or blogging? Is your forte cooking, fashion, or are you the kid whisperer in your Nashville neighborhood? All these skills can be used to help your local school, hospital, or retirement home.
Opportunity’s are endless for helping those in need. All it takes is an hour of your time…or more. It just depends on how much time you are willing to spare. And you can do it remotely or roll up your sleeves and get really involved at the ground level.
Interested in helping kids? No problem! Want to help a senior learn to tweet? Step up to the plate and donate the most precious commodity we have available these days-time. And just think about it, making a one-on-one connection with another human being has become almost unheard of these days, with social media zapping all of our leisure time.
Get out and smell the humanity. You will be glad you did.
Listed below is just a small list of suggestions on where you can make a difference in another human beings life, right here in Music City. Step out of your comfort zone and do the right thing. And if you have friends that can help, why not make it a group effort? If all of you commit to just an hour a week, just think of all the lives you will touch.
