As reported here yesterday, what was an as yet confirmed manga starring two fan favorite Gossip Girl characters, Vanessa and Blair, is now official. Not only will the book, written and illustrated by HyeKyung Baek, come out in January (within a matter of weeks) but we've found an exclusive four page sneak peek brought to us by MTV's Splash Page. Based on the bestselling novels by Cecily von Ziegesar and the adapted hit television series on the CW of the same name, this manga is published by Yen Press. Gossip Girl: For Your Eyes Only wll be serialized in the monthly "Yen Plus" magazine and attempt to tap into the illusive teen girl market. However, manga is a more popular medium for girls than your standard comic or graphic novel.
From the preview, it seems only the names and bold fashion sense are all that are recognizable of the popular television show during Blair's Upper East Side birthday party.
