Gosselin tax lien: Former TLC star owes government $39,000

Jon Gosselin has a three-year-old tax lien that has been filed against him by Uncle Sam according to reports filed in Pennsylvania that were reported Jan 10 by TMZ. The lien is about $39,000 and might take some time for Gosselin to pay up. He hasn't paid his taxes from 2009 to April 2012. Gosselin and his wife Kate split in 2009 and at that time stopped doing the TLC series "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

It seems Jon wasn't bringing in all that money once he quit the series and perhaps that was what started his financial problems, according to TMZ. Gosselin is the father of 8 children and since the show, he has been just a typical normal person for the most part. He has been reported to have dated several women since his divorce and has been in photos showing him partying and totally enjoying himself. Now is the time for him to start paying up.

Kate Gosselin has continued to make an income in the public spotlight. She has appeared on "Kate Plus 8" along with being a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars." Additionally, she has written several books and went on tour as a motivational speaker. In contrast, Jon says that it has been difficult for him to find a steady regular job because of the fact he was in the reality show.
