Gosselin girls speechless, embarrass Kate in 'Today Show' interview

Savannah Guthrie interviewed Kate Gosselin along with 13-year old Gosselin twins Cara and Mady. On Jan. 16, NJ News reported that the girls went silent. In a very uncomfortable interview and even after Kate's prodding, the girls just had nothing to say.

The whole point of the interview was to allow the girls a chance to speak about their experiences growing up on reality TV. When asked about their experience and how it has affected them, Mady looked like a deer in the headlights and only managed to say, "Um..." Without a second though, Kate jumped in and said, "Mady, your words. This is your chance, spit it out."

Clearly embarrassed, Kate tried to step in and save face. When Cara was given an opportunity to answer after Mady clammed up, she was completely speechless as well. From the looks on the twins' faces, they didn't seem all too pleased to be at the interview in the first place.

Even after prompting the girls and telling them what to say, Mady's response to her mother was, "No, you just said it." Mady finally speaks up when asked about the public's impression of them and if it is wrong. “I wouldn’t say wrong. I would just say not the full story,” Mady said. “A lot of people think that filming our show has damaged us, but it’s only really helped.”

No surprise, Kate did a good majority of the talking. She was visibly upset that her girls got quiet and looked very uncomfortable during the interview. Of course, this was her big chance to clean up her image and they even when coached, they obviously did not perform as she had wanted.
