Gospel songwriter Rev. George Jordan, composer of 'Jesus Will Work It Out' dies

Gospel songwriter Rev. George Jordan, composer of "Jesus Will Work It Out" has passed away. His death was reported on the Black Gospel Blog on Thursday, Jan. 24.

A Detroit native who migrated to Chicago, Jordan will be fondly remembered for his popular gospel compositions “Hello Sunshine,” “I’ll Get Home Someday,” “Step to Jesus” and the extremely popular “Jesus Can Work It Out.” Dr. Charles G. "Hello Sunshine" was the first hit single from Rev. Maceo Woods' studio album, “In Concert’ released first on local Free Sound label and later picked up nationally by Volt Records. The song debuted on Billboard's R&B chart in 1970. Jordan was a longtime minister of music for Chicago's famed Pastor Maceo Woods and the Christian Tabernacle Concert Choir.
