This Friday night at the nation’s premiere entertainment festival, gospel is a part of the main showcase! The official South by Southwest Gospel +Soul Showcase will converge on the Central Presbyterian Church at 7 pm. This is a first for the historic festival and will feature Anita Wilson, Jonathon McReynolds, Natori Blue and Austin music ministry machine Chris Spivey and Nu Destiny.This incredible lineup is pitch perfect for this event and will showcase gospel music’s relevance as a perennial inclusion into the annual festival.
Event Director Rachel Williams-Mitchell had this to say about the event:
I’m doing this Gospel showcase to enlarge the territory of Gospel & Christian music blending the contemporary, soul, traditional, inspirational, rock and rap. I also want to see major artists and industry professionals give back through experience and knowledge as keynote speakers.

Bring your praise with you! Grammy and Stellar Award nominee Anita Wilson will be on hand performing “Jesus Will” “Speechless” and other hits from her debut album “Worship Soul”. Extraordinary musician and gospel troubadour Jonathan McReynolds’ performance is sure to include “No Gray” and “Everything” along with his other hits that are sweeping the nation. One of the most pure, sincere voices in South Texas belongs to Natori Blue. Her vocal stylings and accompanying arrangements rival chart topping artists the world over. She is a studied voice and brings just what you need to move in the moment of worship! The festival will be packed up and every bar closed before you’re able to find better musicianship than Chris Spivey! What he and Nu Destiny bring is unrestrained passionate worship! Be prepared to be taken into a higher dimension of worship and praise with this group!
