Who is Mark Schultz?
Platinum-selling, Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter, Mark Schultz grew up in Colby, Kansas, but as reported in Gospel Music 101: Which gospel artists got their start in Nashville? Schultz launched his gospel music career in Nashville as a youth pastor at First Presbyterian Church. A few years ago, he booked a sell-out show at Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium with the support of the First Presbyterian Church congregation, and that show earned Mark Schultz a deal with Nashville's Word Records. Schultz continues to write many of his songs in the First Pres church chapel today.
Mark Schultz - Honors & Awards
Landing the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s “Hot Christian Adult Contemporary Songwriters” list, Mark Schultz has released 4 albums and has been nominated for numerous Dove Awards. Schultz's self-titled first project blasted onto the contemporary Christian music (CCM) scene in 2001 with an astounding five Dove nominations including New Artist of the Year. (see Who's Who at GMA Week)
Mark Schultz has had nine No. 1 radio hits so far. Career honors for Schultz include being named Christian Music Today’s Male Vocalist in 2003, his 2005 release, Mark Schultz Live…A Night of Stories & Songs, earning RIAA Platinum status and winning Schultz his first GMA Dove Award in 2006 for Long Form Music Video of the Year. Mark Schultz has also appeared on national television shows such as "48 Hours," CNN, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and more.
Mark Schultz - Come Alive
Now Schultz is gearing up to release his first new studio album in nearly three years, Come Alive, which is scheduled to debut on August 25 on Word Records. The songs on Come Alive were inspired by real life experiences: families dealing with cancer and special needs. The album was also inspired by Schultz‘s 2007 coast-to-coast bicycle ride that raised over $250,000 to benefit the James Fund (see Mark Schultz Across America). Produced by Brown Bannister (Amy Grant, Third Day, CeCe Winans), Shaun Shankel (Beyoncé, Hilary Duff), Bernie Herms (Natalie Grant, Avalon) and Paul Mills (Third Day, Bluetree), the album also features collaborations with gospel songwriters including Bart Millard and Barry Graul of Mercy Me, Matthew West, Joy Williams and Bernie Herms.
Schultz will soon be joined by fellow gospel artists Point Of Grace on a 40-plus-city “Come Alive” tour that launches September 10, 2009. For the latest list of tour dates and more information on Mark Schultz, visit markschultzmusic.com.

Love this series. Keep 'em coming!
I've not heard a whole lot of his stuff but what I have heard I've really liked. Especially "Remember Me" and "Letters From War" and I once saw an excellent play set to "He's My Son"
