Nominees for The 43RD NAACP Image Awards were announced recently and several Gospel artist received nominations. Topping the list was Kirk Franklin who received a nomination for Outstanding Song for "I Smile" and Outstanding Gospel Album for "Hello Fear" congratulations goes out to him.
Other Gospel artists nominated for Outstanding Gospel Album are; Yolanda Adams for "Becoming", Deitrick Haddon for “Church on the Moon”, Mary Mary for “Something Big” and Andrae Crouch for “The Journey.”
The NAACP Image Awards celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of film, television, music and literature and honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.
The film adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s best-selling novel “The Help” also received eight nominations, making it tops of the nominations.
The winners of the prestigious awards will be announced during a live telecast on NBC Friday, February 17 beginning at 8 PM.
