TobyMac, Lecrae, and Matt Redman were three of many winners at last night's Grammy Awards. Whereas TobyMac and Lecrae took home awards for best albums, Matt Redman cleared spaces for two trophies as he won for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song and Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance.
Mary Mary was also the recipient of a Grammy award this year as their song, 'Go Get It,' put them on the map for Best Gospel Song. Although Tina was unable to attend, Erica and husband Warryn Campbell gladly accepted the award in both the singing duo's honor.
Tamela Mann and Casting Crowns were among the nominated this year but failed to take home the trophy. Tamela received much recognition after her song, 'Take Me To The King' became a hit among listeners. Casting Crown became even more popular with the release of 'Jesus, Friend of Sinners.' Both Tamela and Casting Crowns were nominated for Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance of which Matt Redman took home the prize.
The 55th Grammy Awards was held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Staples Center near downtown Los Angeles.
