Gospel artists capture nominations for 45th Annual GMA Dove Awards

Gospelartists came away with several GMA Dove Award nominations when the nominees were announced during a press conference Aug. 13 at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena.

Motown Gospel receives six GMA Dove Award nominations for Tye Tribbett, Micah Stampley and Sheri Jones – Moffett. Tribbett received three nominations for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Album of the Year (Greater Than – Live), Contemporary Urban Gospel Song of the Year (“If He Did It Before…Same God”), and Gospel Performance of the Year (“If He Did It Before . . . Same God”). Micah Stampley received two nominations for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Album of the Year (Love Never Fails), and Contemporary Urban Gospel Song of the Year (“Our God”). Sheri Jones – Moffett received a nomination for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Album of the Year (Power & Authority – Live in Memphis).

The 200-voice strong Temple of Deliverance Women’s Choir. The melodious ensemble has earned its first ever Dove Award nomination for its debut CD “Pastor Milton R. Hawkins Presents In the Sanctuary” (Habakkuk Music) that boasts the soul-stirring radio hits “Everybody Praise,” “Breakthrough” and “Keep Me Every Day.” The choir is nominated in Category 29 Traditional Gospel Album of the Year.

Entertainment One Music (eOne Music) garnered 10 nominations for its artists’ releases, the most nominations in the label’s history.
Erica Campbell received 4 nominations for her first solo record, the #1 album "Help." Releasing one of Gospel’s most anticipated solo albums to much acclaim, Campbell’s hit single “Help” (feat. Lecrae) has 2 nominations, for Gospel Performance of the Year, and for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Song of the Year. Her hit single “A Little More Jesus” is nominated for Traditional Gospel Song of the Year, while her album "Help," is nominated for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Album of the Year.

Ricky Dillard earned a nomination in the category of Traditional Gospel Song of the Year for the hit song “Amazing,” the #1 lead single from the #1 album Amazing, from Ricky Dillard & New G. Worship leader William McDowell is nominated for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year, for his #1 album "Withholding Nothing," a live CD/DVD album and concert film marking his first combined DVD/music release.

Acclaimed artist Jonathan McReynolds garnered a nod for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Song of the Year, for the song “No Gray,” another song from the singer-songwriter’s hit debut album Life Music. Anaysha is nominated for Traditional Gospel Song of the Year for the single “Holy One,” her hit live performance of the Tramaine Hawkins classic, recorded for the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Live 2013 album, while Dexter Walker & Zion Movement, is nominated for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for their debut album "Greater Than Before." Rounding out the label’s 10 nominations is a Spanish Language Album of the Year nomination for Mi Corazon Canta: Cantos De Alabanza Vol. 2, a 12-track second volume featuring songs of praise from various Spanish worship leaders.

The 45th Annual GMA Dove Awards will take place at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville, TN on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, with tickets on sale now, and air on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
