John Gosden expects Golden Lilac as a frontrunner in Friday's Etihad Airways Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. Trained by Frenchman Andre Fabre, the sprinter is currently rated 122 by Timeform. Betting tipsters find Golden Lilac to be the current betting favourite in the Group 1 horse race.

Additionally, Gosden will place Elusive Kate and Joviality for the Group 1 meeting. (The latter is the winner of the Windsor Forest Stakes.) As of Monday, Fallen For You has remained uncommitted.

“Joviality will run and Elusive Kate will probably run, as she needs to have one," Gosden told Betfair. "I probably won't run Fallen For You if the ground is soft. I think Joviality will give Golden Lilac a race but Golden Lilac is a very high-class filly. I'd expect the favourite to win, and to win well, she's that good.”

Days after winning the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse at Sandown, Nathaniel becomes just the fourth horse to record a BHA performance rating of 124 in the middle-distance category of this year's QIPCO British Champions Series. Camelot clocked 124 in the Investec Derby while St Nicholas Abbey rated the same in the Diamond Jubilee Coronation Cup. So You Think received a 124 rating at the Prince of Wales's Stakes.

Thus, there is a four-way tie at the top of the QIPCO British Champions Middle Distance performance table. The next race takes place at Ascot on Saturday with the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
