On the first day of 2014, a gorgeous German shepherd dubbed "Celia," was picked up as a stray and taken to the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control in Baldwin Park, Calif.
Today, nine days later, Celia is still waiting for her guardian to retrieve her.
Unfortunately, though Celia likely had an owner, it does not appear that she will be reclaimed - the four-year-old dog became available for adoption on Jan. 6.
Celia's intake photo is heartbreaking - she is obviously terrified and confused. In the photo, Celia's tail is firmly tucked and her eyes are mirrors to her frightened soul.
A volunteer who photographs dogs at the facility captured a more relaxed image of Celia - in the photo, her copper eyes reveal intelligence, edged with uncertainty.
Celia needs the help of strangers right now - please take a moment to network this lovely dog to help her find a new family.
