Update 9/21/13: Francesca is safe! She was adopted by a private adopter on Friday and her new name is likely going to be Sage. Her new guardian has stated that Francesca/Sage is doing much better now that she is out of the animal control facility and in a home.
A stunning, bi-color German shepherd is at risk of losing her life in Roswell, N.M.
Right now, two-year-old "Francesca" calls cage 3 home at the Roswell Animal Control, where she has been housed since Sept. 13.
Though Francesca has not been at the facility for long, the animal control policy is to put dogs down at 7:00 a.m. on the eighth day of their impound - for Francesca, it means that she must be tagged for adoption/rescue by September 20, which is tomorrow.
Little is known about this striking, young dog. The facility does not list the animals, available for adoption, on their website.
A call to the facility at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday did confirm that Francesca is still there, and still in need of rescue or adoption.
