The San Jose Earthquakes overcame a two-goal deficit and a man-down to defeat rival Los Angeles Galaxy 3-2 on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Stanford Stadium in Stanford, CA. Forward Alan Gordon came off the bench and scored two goals including the game winner in extra time.

The LA Galaxy scored the lone goal in the first half with a Marcelo Sarvas tally in the 20th minute. Hector Jimenez doubled the Galaxy lead to 2-0 with another LA goal in the 65th minute. Galaxy stars Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane assisted on both the LA goals.

Gordon came in as a substitute for Steven Lenhart and made immediate impact scoring in the 68th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Earthquakes had a slight set back, however, when Defender Victor Bernardez received his second yellow card putting San Jose a man-down.

The Galaxy failed to capitalize on the man advantage, and Earthquakes Goalie Jon Busch kept San Jose in the game with superb goalkeeping like his spectacular save on Jimenez in the 88th minute.

Midfielder Shea Salinas found the equalizer in the 92nd minute, and Gordon finished the come back with his game winner in the 93rd minute.

San Jose (5-7-6) improved to 2-1-0 under interim coach Mark Watson. The Earthquakes will host the Seattle Sounders on Saturday, July 13, 2013 after a two-game road trip.
