Gordon Lightfoot announces 2014 fall tour of Canada

Gordon Lightfoot has added a second leg of 2014 tour dates in Canada.

According to a news release posted Jan. 27 at Lightfoot.ca, the iconic Canuck singer-songwriter has expanded his coast-to-coast tour to include a new round of dates to begin in October.

The “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” hitmaker, who was inducted into The Songwriters Hall of Fame at a ceremony in New York in 2013, will kick off fall trek on Oct. 21 in Nanaimo, BC at Port Theatre and cap the run with a 4-night stand from Nov. 26-29 at Toronto's Massey Hall.

Nov. 2 Edmonton, AB - Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
Nov. 3 Calgary, AB - Jack Singer Hall
Nov. 6 Saskatoon, SK - TCU Place
Nov. 7 Regina, SK - Casino Regina Show Lounge
Nov. 8 Winnipeg, MB - MTS Center Theatre

Tickets for the new dates go on sale Fri. Jan. 31 with various pre-sales available starting Jan. 29.

Lightfoot's Canadian spring run kicks off April 25-26 in St. John's, NF at the Arts and Cultural Centre.

The 75-year old Orillia. ON native's most recent release is "Massey Hall Moments – All Live."

The 15-time Juno Award winner has a huge back catalogue of hits including: “Ribbon of Darkness,” "Early Morning Rain," "Sundown," "If You Could Read My Mind," "Carefree Highway, “Rainy Day People,” and "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald."

Did you know? Gordon Lightfoot was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1986.
