Gordon Klingenschmitt has advanced beyond his usual peddling of conspiracy theories and insistence that all of his ideological opponents are demon-possessed and/or going to Hell and has officially embraced full-blown American Taliban extremism by insisting, not only that marriage equality is an attack on the Constitution, but that any judge who has ruled in favor of the LGBT community and marriage equality "is a domestic enemy."

"This is way beyond the point where it’s gotten out-of-hand," Klingenschmitt wrote to the members of his Pray In Jesus' Name project. "The lawlessness on the federal bench requires a house-cleaning. We need a new President to appoint new judges. But until that happens, we MUST pressure Congress to intervene.

"Christians do not lose their right to vote simply because they are religious. These lawless judges replace Democracy with dictatorship, abrogate the U.S. Constitution, flaunt the laws of God and nature, assume jurisdiction they don’t have, and overturn the overwhelming vote of good people. May God have mercy on these tyrants’ souls, when they are judged in eternity.

"There is NO mention of sexual orientation in the Constitution, and any judge who imagines one is a domestic enemy of the Constitution, and should be impeached and removed from office. We must demand Congress hold the line, and protect the traditional definition of marriage FEDERALLY, like the Oklahoma people did by state."

What Klingenschmitt is clearly banking on his entire audience conveniently forgetting is that, while sexual orientation is not mentioned in the Constitution, there is that pesky little thing called the Equal Protection Clause, which clearly states that "no State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

No matter how loud Gordon Klingenschmitt begs to differ, homosexuals count as human beings, ergo any legislation which deliberately singles them out (as the gay marriage bans had done) is unconstitutional by default.

This is the inconvenient truth that Klingenschmitt appears hellbent (pun not intended) on kicking and screaming against until it is finally time to bury him.
