Gord Bamford walked away with five 2013 CCMAs held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Bamford credits his astonishing success to his family and his friends. Gord Bamford was already an 11-time CCMA winner and can add his five 2013 CCMAs to his collection.
Bamford walked away from the Canadian Country Music Awards on Sept. 8 with wins for CMT (Canada) Video of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year (presented by Wal-Mart), Songwriter of the Year and Record Producer(s) of the Year.
Gord Bamford’s “Leaning on a Lonesome Song,” which he co-wrote with Nashville songwriters Buddy Owens and Ray Stephenson, is a very personal song for the Canadian country music singer, songwriter and producer. Gord co-wrote the song after learning about his brother-in-law’s suicide. “Leaning on a Lonesome Song” also won the CMT (Canada) Video of the Year CCMA. The majority of the “Leaning on a Lonesome Song” video was filmed in black and white.
