The increasingly popular lifestyle camera brand GoPro launched it's newest product just for man's best friend, reported ABC on Monday August 25, 2014. The new release is a camera harness that attaches a camera to your dog and allows you to see things from the perspective of your four legged furry friends. BusinessInsider.com commented on the release on Tuesday, "The GoPro Fetch is a kit that comes with a dog harness, a camera tether, and software needed to set it up on any model of GoPro. It’s your job to provide the pooch and the GoPro camera."
GoPro Fetch, will allow a camera to be attached to the harness in two different positions. Owners will have the choice of attaching the camera to the chest area or back for two very different perspectives into the real dog life. According to the GoPro Fetch website, "This harness features two mounting locations for a variety of perspectives: the chest, for bone-chewing, digging and front-paw action, and the back, for over-the-head shots of running, jumping, fetch and more." This product might just open the door to a whole new line of reality dog TV shows, allow us to spy on our pets (or on others while using our pets,) or at least it's certain to increase the number of cute viral dog videos that keeps much of the world busy while at work.
The apparatus has been constructed with dogs of many sizes in mind and GoPro states, "Made of washable, water-friendly material, your dog can swim, play and get dirty without a worry. Soft, padded construction keeps your pet comfortable. Fully adjustable to fit small, medium and large breed dogs from 15 to 120 lbs (7 to 54 kg). Chest mount is removable for smaller dogs."
The release of their first dog focused product comes just two months after GoPro went public back on June 26 of this year. The harness will be available for $59.99 with a 30 day money back guarantee, and according to the manufacturer, it is compatible with any model in the current GoPro camera line.
