Republicans want to end Medicare. The GOP is threatening seniors and the disabled with deep cuts in Medicare. The Republican Party has sought for decades to gut Medicare funding and tried multiple times to kill the program entirely. Just this year, 137 Republicans voted in the House for a budget proposal offered by the Republican leadership which would have ended Medicare for future generations of seniors.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is fighting back for seniors. The DNC has released a new television ad set to run on national and District of Columbia cable stations, and in ten Republican congressional districts, blasting the Republican Party for voting earlier this year to abolish Medicare.
For decades Republicans have been hostile towards the health care program for our nation's seniors. The ad is concentrating on congressional represenatives who are dedicated to destroy Medicare. The ad, "No Friend to Seniors", is running in the districts of U.S. Reps. Eric Cantor (VA), John Boehner (OH), Lee Terry (NE), Patrick Tiberi (OH), Mary Bono Mack (CA), Don Young (AK), Paul Ryan (WI), Michele Bachmann (MN), Jean Schmidt (OH), and Erik Paulsen (MN).
The Republican Party is no friend of seniors.

Mikey, why didn't you tell us that there was a vote to end Medicare? Now what do we do? Who do we turn to? Oh MY GOD!!
Don't you worry Granny, Michael is going to work with his friend Barry to get us Medical Marijauna! It will be cheap and generate lots of tax revenues to pay for your next set of dentures.
You are so freaking lame I had to go vomit!
But Mikey I thought you hated old white people, first you start siding with redneck NASCAR hicks, now old white people? I thought you were supposed to be an anti-white self-hating dope smoking progrossoid dude.
It should be ended and all current medicare patients can just go into the "public option" like the rest of the people. Just throw the underfunded Medicare and Medicaid budgets into the "public option" trillions. What difference will it make? Why have multiple government plans? That is not efficient or economically sound.

Can't help but notice that the Dems use reductions in the cost of Medicare to fund HR3200.

I for one who is facing Medicare in less than 10 months now would CHEER if it were ended. I have an excellent insurance plan, which costs me all of $260 per month). I have found out that I CANNOT KEEP my current insurance plan when I turn 65. I am going to be FORCED to accept Medicare's inferior coverage, and limited access to doctors. Right now I cannot find a doctor who will NOT accept my current insurance, but I have found that some in my area have simply washed their hands of Medicare, including my present GP.
Oh, and BTW, Examiners are supposted to write NEWS, not Dummie Funnies/DKos talking points. So get lost !
