Google sends invites to join #glassexplorers Project Glass program via Twitter

"You’re invited to join our #glassexplorers program. Woohoo! Make sure to follow us - we’ll DM in the coming weeks," reads the boatload of continuous tweets that the official "Project Glass" Twitter account from Google began to send on Wednesday.

If you don't know what these beautiful glasses can do or what they look like, take a look at the below video titled "How It Feels [through Glass]" -- a YouTube video that is already up to nearly 19 million views.

Google will reportedly send 8,000 invites to those that they deem interesting, I guess, of us who tweeted what we'd do with the $1,500 pair of glasses.

#ifihadglass I'd create an entire movie, submit it to Sundance and watch it soar to the Oscars, read my tweet.

Still waiting on my invite, by the by, Big G.

Meanwhile, folks on Twitter who've received their invites are retweeting the shocking news, with some wondering if the message is legit, while another asks, "Is this real life?"
