Google may be opening retail stores before the end of 2013, according to Mashable.com on Feb. 17. The advantage to consumers would be the ability to see products such as Nexus tablets and the soon-to-be released Google Glass before purchasing.
The Google retail stores are rumored to be opening when Google Glass is released at the end of 2013. Google Glass will provide a totally new wearable computing experience that is worn in a high-tech glasses form. You can see more in the attached video.
The actual details of the Google Glass have leaked out despite strident efforts on the part of Google to keep it secret; people who have been allowed to view it have had to sign non-disclosure agreements. You can read a detailed discussion of some of the aspects of the device on TechRadar.com.
Before the year is out, Google could be well on the way to establishing a network of retail stores that rivals Apple Stores around the world.
