Google Offers is finally in the Android Market and many reviewers are already disappointed with the application. Google offers is just one of the plethora of cloned daily deals sites that are sweeping the nation. With Google Offers being the offspring of Google Inc., many users of the new app were expecting a bit more than what was offered.
A few of the one and two starred reviews in Android Marketplace state the Google Offers app repeats the same offers that Google Shopper has as deals. A few more reviewers are not too happy with the limited choices of cities where the deals come from.
Like with Groupon and Living Social, Google Offers will take some time to grow, that is if Google doesn’t dump the program as fast as it dumped Google Wave and soon-to-be dropped Google Buzz. People look to Google for innovation and Google has been paving the way with many productive applications for personal life and business. For Google to enter into the daily deals sector was quite a shocker for most people, but if there is money to be made, Google will try its hand at it.
The Google Offers app is a free download in the Android Market and is upward of 10,000 downloads with 110 reviews, as of date. Users will be prompted to sign-up for the daily offers to be emailed to them and they will also be able to use the app to see the offers.
Even if a shopper doesn’t live in a particular city, Google Offers may come in handy around the holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. Who wouldn’t like to get a cool gift to their favorite restaurant, spa, candy shop, or other niche boutique?
