Well, it looks like the Google machine is plugging along with their underground marketing campaign, if you can call it that, because today marks yet another time over the past few weeks that extensive information about the Google Nexus One has been released.
Only this time, it seems very credible and very substantial.
In an exclusive by Engadget, not only were the full specs of the phone released, we’ll get to those in a second, but apparently a source is saying that the phone is going to be sold via invitation once it debuts. Absolutely no word on how the invite process works but you can be sure that it is Google doing the inviting.
And remember, January 5th was the rumored release date of the phone.
Now on to the specifications of the phone itself.
Seriously, there is a list the size of the Amazon, so let’s just highlight some of the, well, highlights and you can head here to see the rest of the features yourself.
• Android 2.1
• 11.5mm thick
• 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, 4GB microSD in-box expandable to 32GB
• 5 megapixel camera with mechanical AF and LED flash
• HSPA 900 / 1700 / 2100, 7.2Mbps down and 2Mbps up
• 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display
Those look pretty good if they are indeed what’s in store for the Nexus One. Also, it should be noted that the phone will not, again if the specs are correct, be supporting 3G on AT&T but on T-Mobile but we’ll see how that pans out.
So there you have it, the Google Nexus One and if this thing is invite only, it’s going to be all the rage come next year.
