Google I/O tickets sold out in 49 minutes after it opened up for registration, demonstrating the popular demand that that Google has over the developer communities.
The general admission tickets are $900, academic tickets are $300, same price as last year. With news of Google Glasses floating around all the time, it seems demand has not been any less.
Getting the ticket is the hard part. “Google I/O is very popular, and we expect open registration tickets to sell out quickly. Here are some tips to maximize your chance of getting a ticket during open registration:” stated by Google on their registration page. Not only you are risking sell out in less than an hour, you are also trying to register with tens of thousands of other people at the same time, the server is bound to have issues for those who doesn’t have the fastest connection.
“When you register, we'll ask you to sign in with your Google+ account and to pay with your Google Wallet account. To be ready, make sure you have both of these accounts set up before you register.” Google stated on their registration page, making sure all the attendees that wish to get a ticket signs up for both Google+ as well as Google Wallet.
The conference has been known to give out new toys as gifts for their attendees, in 2012 all the attendees received a Nexus 7 tablet, Nexus Q and a Galaxy Nexus. These gifts allows developers to create newer apps and technologies for the devices and understand the standards before they hit the mainstream market.
Congratulations to those who were able to purchase their Google I/O tickets, with so many rumors and newer technologies circulating around Google, Google Glasses, new Android OS, Chrome book, and many other speculations, they are bound to give the attendees a great show.
