Hey Y’all, Happy 2014!
Wow! It has been a looong time since I have contributed an article to Examiner, a website that has distinguished itself as a place to find information and opinions on just about anything that you might be looking for.
I have been extremely busy trying to get through a year long Technical Diploma course offered online through the American College of Technology (ACOT), in the subject of Computer Science and Systems Design. I have found that learning Visual Basic and Java for the first time requires just about every “little grey cell” in my brain.
Happily, I have completed the course, learned a lot and earned my Diploma which is no more or less than a start.
Since I have been away, many new and exciting developments have taken place in the tech industry and my friend Tiffany over at JDPR has been kind enough to keep me in the loop about some of the hottest new gadgets .
The CES (Consumer and Electronics) show is in full swing in Vegas right now, showcasing the next “big things” but I wanted to take a moment to review some of the entries from last year to see how they have come along.
One of the most intriguing developments in the area of personal computing has been the concept of “wearable” gear. Samsung has commercials out right now advertising their Samsung Galaxy Gear which features a wristwatch that can do everything from accepting phone calls to shooting video.
A company called FitBit Force also has a wristwatch which works as a watch but also can monitor sleep quality, keep track of steps taken, distance traveled, and calories burned.
Those products are interesting and kind of cool and they are available right now. Just on the horizon however, and coming closer daily is what promises to be a true revolution in wearable gear.
Google Glass.
If you haven’t heard or seen anything about Google Glass than you must check out the link. The possibilities that this new technology presents are absolutely stunning in the way that they will change our lives.
Take a look and stay tuned….
