Google’s charming, interactive doodle features Irish dancers (5 girls and 1 lad) in vivid shades of green performing a lively popular folk dance, the Irish Jig.

This year St. Paddy’s Day is Sunday, March 17th! With many being bit by the leprechaun earlier in time for the many parades throughout the country.

The oldest and largest of the St. Paddy’s Day parades in the Western Hemisphere, dating back to 1762 -- New York City's St. Paddy's Day Parade – was held yesterday and marked its 251st Paddy’s Day parade in NYC (Saturday, March 16).

According to legend, St. Patrick used the 3-leaved shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to Irish pagans.
