The event is one of thousands hosted across the world by the American Cancer Society to raise awareness for all forms of cancer. The American cancer society aids in cancer research programs as well as treatment and comfort measures for those battling cancer. The ACS reports that only 7 cents per dollar donated goes to the administration costs of operating the massive organization.

Carrabbas Italian Grill provided dinner for survivors who were also recognized with the event's signature Survivor Lap. A young cancer survivor named Hope and her sister, Hannah, shared their inspiring story.
Team KarateBuilt and Dancing for Hope from Steppin Out Performing Arts performed at the event. The Honey Foundation.Org was the top fundraising team.
