Goodwill’s $1.00 sale begins Thursday, March 7. This is the day that racks and racks of clothing are reduced to only $1.00 per piece. One of the best ‘fishing holes’ in Columbia just keeps getting better, and local thrift shoppers wait anxiously for Thursdays.
Goodwill Industries International of Columbia has a half price savings corner filled with racks most days and one dollar racks on Thursdays and Fridays. There are many Goodwill thrift stores in Columbia. Just enter your zip code to in the box where it says Find Your Local Goodwill.
The one dollar racks are crammed with tops and tees, blouses and shirts, jeans and chinos, tanks and camis, skirts and capris. It’s a great way to spend an hour or so, and hidden treasures are sure to show up. There are always some designer labels and name brand fashions. The sale racks usually drop to fifty cents on Sunday for even better fashion fishing.
Goodwill at 2736 Decker Boulevard has an excellent selection of spring tops and tees, tanks and camis, and a tremendous selection of shoes, sandals and handbags. There are lots of skirts and dresses, with many in plus sizes. The handbag display is surely worth a look, with some very nice designer bags mixed in. A Rosetti and Tyler Rodan were just found by a thrifty shopper.
Goodwill at 9630 Two Notch Road has a great selection of sweaters, knit tops, layered-look tops, jeans and chinos and sleepwear. Shopping carts filled with sandals were being out Wednesday afternoon. There is also a nice selection of sleepwear.
Goodwill at 118 Knoll Station Drive in Lexington has a huge selection, with lots of plus size blouses, tees, tanks, skirts and slacks. There are plenty of corporate combos to out together on a budget. It’s never surprising to find brand new apparel with tags still attached. Plus size ladies will find a tremendous selection of career and casual separates.
The dollar racks can also help thrifty fashion shoppers earn a little extra money by purchasing name brand clothing in mint condition, such as American Eagle and Land’s End jeans, Ann Taylor LOFT and Aeropostale juniors’ separates, and Tyler Rodan or Bueno handbags and reselling them on eBay or at your local consignment shop for much more than you paid.
Check your pants pockets, shake out your piggy banks, and clean under the couch cushions. You’re sure to find a dollar in loose change that can be turned into a new pair of Tommy Hilfiger jeans or a bright new cami for springl
