These are the types of activities that you find students involved n and involved with around Christmastime and done with great enthusiasm, all for the sake of goodwill. The Department of Afterschool Programming has teamed up with school programs across the county recently participated in creating Holiday cards to send to U.S. Troops currently -profit organization whose goal is to provide encouragement to the men and women deployed overseas by Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc.being provided cards and care packages.
JoAnne Beckner, Director of Afterschool Programming said, “We are proud to announce that Afterschool students have made more than a 1,000 cards to be sent to soldiers to help brighten their holidays.”
Singing and dancing by the chorus at South Olive Elementary for those attending CityPlace this past Sunday was a thrill for all. Under the direction of music teacher, Kristen DeLuca, the very talented South Olive Elementary School Chorus performed a variety of well executed traditional and non-traditional winter holiday songs. Additionally, the Hand Bell Ensemble performed traditional winter holiday music.
South Olive Elementary Principal Sharon Hench said, “The audience comprised of CityPlace shoppers, South Olive Elementary School parents, students, teachers, staff and administration were very proud.”
