Goodenough is great for rescued dogs in South Jersey

Abigail Goodenough is a rising 4th grader at Mansfield Elementary in South Jersey.  Aside from a very active schedule as a normal little girl, Abigail is, at her core, an animal lover.  She loves to feed, walk, play with, and train her own bulldog, Ruckus, but she also has a heart for animals in need.

Abigail decided on her own, out of the goodness of her heart, to raise money for rescue dogs at a local kennel by having a yard sale and selling her toys and clothes.  She chose to donate her profits to Country Haven Kennels to help them offset the costs of caring for some of the rescued dogs they've given sanctuary to.  What she didn't sell, she donated to a local thrift store that donates its proceeds to Greyhound Angels Rescue.  What was left from buying elevated beds for Hannah, Bud, and Mama at Country Haven Kennels was used to purchase items from the wishlist at Burlington County Animal Shelter and was delivered to them on 7/28/11.

Abigail has a charming wit and way with words, check out her quote about her beloved Ruckus:

My favorite dog is an English Bulldog because they are covered in wrinkles, and they have the snorts of a pig.  I usually train my dog with the same tricks that he has trouble with and some new tricks.  When I feed him, I make him sit and stay until the food is on the ground, and then I let him eat.  When we play, we usually play fetch or tug-of-war.  When I walk him we let him do his "business" and sometimes we play for a little bit.

She's not finished there, either!  Her next venture is to create bracelets with her grandfather, sell them, and donate the proceeds from that to needy rescue animals.  Stay tuned for more big things from little-miss-more-than-good-enough-animal-lover Abigail Goodenough!
