BREAKING NEWS February 01, 2013 10:00 a.m. (EST): Microsoft is experiencing a worldwide outage.
TGIF? Not over at Microsoft. As the company is dealing with a worldwide outage affecting Microsoft Live, Hotmail, and Outlook.com. Many users are reporting that that the Office 365 subscription service is also unavailable as well.
This Examiner is attempting to gain further information from Microsoft and will update this article if or when the company responds.
UPDATE February 01, 2013 10:43 a.m. (EST): Partial restoration.
The company posted an update stating that services may have been unavailable for multiple customers due to networking issues in multiple data centers. The service is being restored and most customers have their service restored at this time.
UPDATE February 01, 2013 11:01 a.m. (EST): Services restored.
The company has posted an update stating all services have been fully restored and are functioning properly.

"On 2/1/2013 at approximately 2:55 PM UTC, an Microsoft wide networking issue caused users to encounter errors when accessing their email via OWA (Outlook Web App). The problem affected users worldwide. Microsoft engineers identified the root cause of the issue and put a temporary mitigation in place. The issue was successfully fixed on 2/1/2013 at 4:37 PM UTC. A complete post-incident report will be available on the Service Health Dashboard within five business days."
