In just over a week, GoodCity will host GoodWorkChicago, an event sponsored by J.P. Morgan Chase. The event will take place from Tuesday, June 10th through Thursday, June 12th. It is a three-day forum focused on enhancing Chicago’s nonprofit community.

GoodWorkChicago will bring together leaders from the city’s public, private and nonprofit sectors to generate new ideas and strategic partnerships. The leaders will be all-inclusive from top corporations, government agencies, social enterprises and established nonprofits. This is the first event of its kind and plans to be as exciting as it possibly can be for both attendees and recipients alike!

The idea behind GoodWorkChicago is to replicate the success of Chicago Ideas Week. They would like to benefit Chicago’s nonprofit community; bringing together leaders from top corporations, government agencies and established nonprofit organizations in order to solve the problems that impact all Chicagoans. There plans to be more than 50 engaging speakers that will happily share emerging trends and leadership development tools at the fast-paced, interactive forums to commence.

Some issues that will be addressed will be the access to affordable education and public services, the criminal justice system and corporate social impact. The social portion will address issues such as social justice and social enterprise; enlightening, enriching and inspiring those who are determined to create a lasting change upon our society locally, nationally and globally.

“We believe everyone can play a role in supporting their local communities,” said Jimmy Lee, president of Goodcity, a Chicago-based organization that identifies and supports social entrepreneurs who are making a difference in under-resourced communities. “GoodWorkChicago will enlighten, enrich and inspire those who are working to make lasting change in our society on a local level as well as on a global scale.”

Tuesday morning, June 10th, GoodStart will begin the day with a Kickoff Breakfast that is free and open to the public from 8:00 until 9:00 a.m. The breakfast will be held at Chase Tower, 10 South Dearborn Street on the 57th Floor. Exploration of GoodWorkChicago and the work of social entrepreneurs, public officials, corporate leaders and nonprofit change-makers that are enriching the Chicago nonprofit community will begin.

Then, the next days will present to attendees a variety of seminars, workshops and presentations at various venues throughout the city. It is a wonderful opportunity for all involved.

Nonprofit organizations will benefit greatly from the ideas that will stem from this forum! If you are interested in attending and would like to view a complete list of programs please visit www.GoodWorkChicago.org.
