Good Samaritan who found elderly German shepherd is in need of help

On Sunday night, a woman who was in Dallas, Texas, assisting with TNR (trap, neuter, release) of feral cats, came upon an elderly German shepherd who appeared to have been abandoned.

The dog, since named "Zeus," approached the woman, as if asking for help.

Unwilling to leave the senior dog alone to fend for himself, the good Samaritan took him home, visited a veterinary clinic to have him scanned for a chip, and provided him with a general exam.

According to the veterinarian, Zeus is approximately eight years of age and he has a yeast infection which has left his skin thickened.

Zeus' rescuer shared the following:

He is pure GSD and has the sweetest personality. He let us touch all over his body and pick him up to get in the car. He is great on a leash, and just wants to follow people around. He is 92 pounds and does not seem underweight...just BADLY neglected.

If anyone can help me with him, I'll help with vet fees and neuter. PLEASE HELP ASAP I am desperate!!

Zeus needs an adopter, or a rescue. The woman who took him off of the streets does not want to take him to an animal control facility because she knows that his odds of leaving there alive are slim.

Please take a moment to share this senior dog's information and anyone with questions, or who can help, is asked to call Laci at 214-228-7936 or email, petrescue13@gmail.com.

Thank you.
