It's Fat Tuesday the day of excess in what's one of the biggest world wide parties I know but especially if you're in Brazil, Trinidad, Dominican Republic or good ole New Orleans. No you can't ever rekindle the same vibe or magic in those countries or New Orleans but here's a couple quick tips that will make it fun to enjoy Mardi Gras to its fullest in New York City.
- Visit Murphy's Guide to find a hot spot near you. There are literally dozens of bar that have Mardi Gras themes and too many for me to write about. So just press this link and you'll be whizzed away to something in your area that will have something fun and vibe that you;ll like.
T.J. Whitney (244 E.53rd between 2nd & 3rd Ave) : Okay if I had to pick one Midtown spot I'm going with the one with $3 beers, $4 Hurricanes and $3 voodoo shots all night long. What's to argue about here?
Latitude (783 8th Ave between 47th & 48th streets) : They do big happy hour events well for the after work/business crowd. $5 Hurricanes, $5 soco shots.
3rd & Long (523 3rd Avenue off 35th street) : They got the beads and $2 Abita beers along with all the shot specials. Naw if they only have some debauchery.
