It is important if you want to stand out in the community to make a great impression of yourself. If you are starting off as a small business, you want to make a great impression and sell your business as something that is positive for the community.
If you are a non-profit organization such as a Church, and you have a sign up to invite people into your Church, you want to make sure that the sign you post makes an excellent representation of your Church. People will walk or drive by and catch a glimpse of the sign which would gain their interest and make them think about the Church.
There is a Church just north of Toronto that has an electrical sign which flashes phrases and words. Just this week they had a phrase up which said “Honk if you love Jesus”. Then following that phrase was “Text and Drive to meet Him”. This basically meant that if you text and drive, you will die and meet Jesus. This phrase encourages people to text and drive and also gives a bad impression of that particular Church. This phrase also gives a promise to people that if they die after texting and driving, that they will meet Jesus, guaranteed.
That is not a healthy choice to put a phrase like that up on the sign. “Honk if you Love Jesus” is a good enough phrase. If you want to make a good impression in your community, think strongly about how you are going to advertise and get some healthy advice from others around you as well.
