Gonzalez's substances from the Biogenesis may be linked to his father, not him (Photos)

Washington Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez has had his name linked to PED's in recent weeks.

Now, Gonzalez may be saved from being potentially suspended, now that ESPN's Mike Fish and T.J. Quinn have both reported that Gonzalez did not receive banned substances from Anthony Bosch or the Biogenesis clinic.

His name was previously identified in the Biogenesis documents. Those documents said Gonzalez received $1,000 in substances, but that they were not of the performance-enhancing variety.

Those substances in question were a legal combination of items to be used for weight loss. There is speculation that the substances were for Gonzalez's father, Max, who was also listed in the Biogenesis documents.
