The 2014 NCAA basketball live stream and televised games schedule brings a battle between ranked teams on Saturday night, as March Madness is right around the corner. It'll be Gonzaga vs. Memphis in a matchup of two teams near the bottom of the Top 25 rankings, who will look to climb higher ahead of the seeding for the NCAA tournament. The latest of the TV and live stream NCAA basketball games arrives for fans Saturday night thanks to ESPN.
According to ESPN.com in their Feb. 8 pre-game report, tonight's contest will take place in Memphis, Tenn. with the No. 24 Tigers of the AAC hosting the No. 23 Zags of the WCC. Up until this point, Gonzaga has only lost once in conference, but three times overall, giving them a 21-3 record. Meanwhile, Memphis (17-5) has fallen five times, including their loss 87-72 at SMU a week ago. The Tigers enter tonight's home game off a home rout over Rutgers, 101-69 on Feb. 4, while Gonzaga has won seven straight games, including a 71-66 win over Portland on Feb. 5.
Of note, these two teams are both within the top four of offensive stats category this season. The Bulldogs are currently fourth in field goal percentage shooting about 50% per game, while the Tigers are third in the nation in assists, averaging 17.9 a contest. Memphis is also 18th in field goal percentage, 23rd in points a game and 39th in rebounds, making for a solid overall offensive team. Joe Jackson, Shaq Goodwin and Geron Johnson have been among their stars so far, with each contributing in the points, rebounding and assists categories.
Gonzaga will look to Kevin Pangos to continue to lead the way in tonight's away game. The 6-2 junior guard is averaging 15.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists a game for a Bulldogs team that is 32nd in the nation in scoring, as they average 78.9 points per game. Gonzaga isn't shabby in the assists category either, as they average 14.8 per game, and rank 55th in the country.
Memphis coach Josh Pastner said of tonight's matchup at the FedExForum:
"We're playing a great team in Gonzaga. We've had some great battles with them. It's going to be a heck of a game."
As far as the odds go in tonight's matchup, the home team Memphis Tigers are favored to win by as many as 4 1/2-points over Gonzaga. Tonight's over/under points total is 144 to 145 points at various books. In terms of injuries, Joe Jackson is listed as "probable" for tonight, with the Tigers hoping to have him in the lineup in order to top the Bulldogs.
Saturday night's Gonzaga vs. Memphis game has a scheduled start time of 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. College basketball fans can see this game on live TV via ESPN in standard and hi-definition.
