On March 5, Gharachedaghi revealed to fans on Twitter and Instagram that she was currently in the hospital for symptoms stemming from the illness, which she was diagnosed with two years ago.

"For all of you asking about the picture of the hospital band. Thank you for your kind words. I'm ok... just waiting on results in order to take the next step," she wrote in an Instagram post, which was also posted on Twitter. "Remember, life is too short to complain about the small things. Be grateful for everyday that you're given."

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which one's immune system, which is supposed to fight foreign bacteria, mistakenly attacks one's joints, causing inflammation that can damage joints and organs, such as the heart.

The illness is three times more common in women than it is in men and most commonly begins between the ages of 30 and 60.

Sufferers of the illness often experience flare ups which can last days or months. During these flare ups, pain and fatigue are common.

Although there is no cure for RA, there are several medications available to help minimize the pain and inflammation. It is also recommended that those with RA managing their weight, eat a nutritious diet and get a good balance of rest and activity.

In addition to her post, Gharachedaghi also shared a photo message with fans. It read, "Many of you don't know this, but two years ago, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). I inject myself once a week in the stomach with proper medication. I've been in lots of pain lately so I went in for x-rays."
