“Men, women and children are invited to Golf the Loop here at Cloverdale,” said Audrey May, the facility’s manager. “The offer includes a large bucket of balls and playing holes No. 1, No. 2 and No. 9, which are close together on the south end of the layout, for $15.

“Golf the Loop is ideal for people thinking about giving the game a try, those players trying out a new club or clubs and golfers wanting to get in some quick swings.”

Meanwhile, the Scottish-links-like track hosted the annual Cloverdale Golf Classic to support the Winchester District Memorial Hospital on June 14.

“The always well-attended event was another terrific success this year as the community came together to remember Pat Mackenzie, a great friend and volunteer, and to raise a nice total of funds in the battle to defeat cancer,” said May

The Winchester District Memorial Hospital is a rural community teaching hospital providing personalized service for the 90,000 residents it serves.

Cloverdale Links plays to par 71 and measures 6,427 yards from the tips, 5,830 yards from the white tees and 5,150 yards from the reds.

The course is located about 45 klicks south of Ottawa on Bank Street South (Hwy. 31) between Vernon and Winchester.
