After a good night's sleep you'll want to rise early and head for Mary's Market Cafe and Baker, one of the favorite breakfast places Rockford has to offer. Head around the corner and you will find the Aldeen Golf Club. This golf course got a 4 1/2 star ranking from Golf Digest magazine. With its narrow fairways, 14 holes with ball-sinking water hazards and well-placed bunkers throughout, this is the best municipal course in Illinois. It's well-priced too at under $50.
After a game well-played, be sure to enjoy lunch at Noonan's restaurant in the clubhouse.
