The following is a list of the prize money up for grabs for professional golfers at the 2014 Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida, which is located along the west coast of Florida about 24 miles northwest of Tampa.

The 2014 Valspar Open will be played from Thursday, March 13, 2014, to Sunday, March 16, 2014, on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook. The 2014 Valspar Championship features two winners of majors from 2013 in Justin Rose (U.S. Open) and Jason Dufner (PGA Championship).

Unfortunately, the big three in golf, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Rory McIlroy are all skipping the Valspar Championship this year. This is the first year that Valspar is sponsoring this tournament, which was first played in 2000, and has been sponsored by companies like Buick, Chrysler, and EverBank in the past.

It's hard for a PGA Tournament to gain traction when it cannot attract golf's biggest stars like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Rory McIlroy. I'm not sure if Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, or Rory McIlroy have ever played in this tournament, but I know none of the three has ever won it.

The players with the most wins in the Valspar Championship are Retief Goosen (2003 and 2009) and K.J. Choi (2002 and 2006) with two wins each. Other notable winners include Vijay Singh (2004), Mark Calcavecchia (2007), Jim Furyk (2010), and Luke Donald (2012). All six of those previous winners are playing this year.

  • Second Place - $616,000

The second place finisher at the 2014 Valspar Championship will earn $616,000, which is up 3.6% from the $594,000 that Boo Weekley earned here with his second place finish last year.
