The following is a list of the prize money up for grabs for professional golfers at the 2014 RBC Heritage, which is being played from Thursday, April 17th to Sunday, April 20th, 2014, at the Harbour Town Golf Links at the Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
The RBC Heritage has been played annually in April one week after The Masters since 1983. The tournament is invitational, and of course the RBC Heritage always invites The Masters winner, but often the winner will not play at Hilton Head.
That is true in 2014, as Masters champion Bubba Watson is skipping the RBC Heritage. Also skipping the tournament are Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy. Phil Mickelson had a very disappointing Masters, missing the cut, and Rory McIlroy started playing well far too late to make a real run after barely making the cut.
At least Caroline Wozniacki, one of the hottest girlfriends of professional golfers, was on hand at The Masters to root Rory McIlroy on. Tiger Woods, who probably would not play the RBC Heritage anyway, is still recovering from back surgery to fix a pinched nerve.
It's unclear when Tiger Woods will be back in action. The Masters ratings took a huge tumble without Tiger Woods in the field, and with Phil Mickelson playing badly and missing the cut. Say what you want about Tiger Woods, but he brings a huge amount of interest to golf from people who never cared about it before.
Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy have never won the RBC Heritage. The player with the most wins in the RBC Heritage is Davis Love III with five (1987, 1991, 1992, 1998, 2003). Hale Irwin won the tournament three times (1971, 1973, 1994), while Boo Weekley, Stewart Cink, Payne Stewart, Fuzzy Zoeller, Tom Watson, Hubert Green, and Johnny Miller each have two wins.
