Golf prize money for women players up for grabs at 2014 ShopRite LPGA Classic

The following is a list of the prize money up for grabs for women golfers at the 2014 ShopRite LPGA Classic, which is being held from May 30th to June 1st, 2014, on the Bay Course at the Stockton Seaview Golf Club.

The Stockton Seaview Golf Club is located just off of Route 9 in Galloway Township, New Jersey, just a few miles north of Atlantic City. The Stockton Seaview Country Club is owned by Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, which is a state school.

The total prize money up for grabs at the 2014 ShopRite LPGA Classic is $1.5 million, the same amount of prize money that was paid out last year. The field for the tournament looks great with such LPGA stars as Lexi Thompson, Natalie Gulbis, Sandra Gal, Paula Creamer, Suzann Pettersen and Michelle Wie playing (click on any of those names for hot photos of that player).

The ShopRite LPGA Classic played from 1986 to 2006, and then took break until 2010, and it has been played annually since then. Annika Sorenstam (1998, 2002, 2005) and Betsy King (1987,1995, 2001) are tied for the most wins in the ShopRite Classic at three each, while Juli Inkster has won the tournament twice (1986, 1988).

The winner of the 2014 ShopRite LPGA Classic will earn a cool $225,000. The same amount of money that Karrie Webb earned when she won the tournament in 2013.

  • Second Place - $138,191

Second place at the 2014 ShopRite Classic is worth $138,191. The same amount of money Shanshan Feng took home for her second place finish in 2013.

  • Third Place - $100,248

Third place is worth $100,248. The same amount of money Hee Young Park earned with her third place finish last year.

  • Fourth Place - $77,549

Fourth place is worth $77,549. The same amount Jenny Shinn earned for her fourth place finish in 2013.

  • Fifth Place - $60,000 (estimate)

Fifth place is worth roughly $60,000. Gerina Piller, I.K. Kim, Jeong Jang, and Chie Arimura split $193,688, with each player earning $48,422, when they all tied for fifth place at the ShopRite LPGA Classic last year.
