Golf-O-Max scramble tourney blends indoor golf with watching Super Bowl (Photos)

Super Bowl fever has got Golf-O-Max owner Dru Lafave in its grip.

So much so that Lafave will welcome golf and football fans to combine their passions at Ottawa’s leading indoor golf facility on Super Sunday.

“We’re hosting a Super Bowl Scramble tournament during the game that features plenty of prizes courtesy of Labatt,” said Lafave. “Players will warm-up at 6 p.m. and the competition starts at 6:30 p.m. For our thirsty guests, there’ll be $12 pitchers of beer.”

Meanwhile, Lafave extended his Midnight Madness at the Max special into the months of February and March.

“Golfers can tee-off beginning at midnight on Feb. 9, Feb. 23, March 9 and March 23,” Lafave said. “The green fees will be $12 per player and there must be a minimum of three players per round. Closing time will be 5 a.m.”

During each month at the 1050 Baxter Rd. facility there is a challenging trivia contest that has a $200 gift certificate to shoot for as the monthly prize.

“Customers can enter the trivia contest that has plenty of Canadian content online by visiting our website at www.golfomax.com,” he said.”

Five courses were added to the Golf-O-Max lineup this year.

“We’ve loaded Bethpage Black, Doral’s Blue Monster, Glen Abbey, Kananaskis Mount Kidd and Spyglass Hill into the simulators this season,” said Lafave. “This means there are now 57 world-famous tracks that golfers can choose from when they visit us.”

Groups looking for a place to hold their special occasions are invited to contact Golf-O-Max.

“We are able to accommodate parties for up to 44 golfers who can play regular rounds of golf or we can set up the simulators for a best-ball format. If they want to invite more people who aren’t playing, we are designed to host up to 66 folks in total,” Lafave said.

He adds that Golf-O-Max’s Facebook followers have a shot at deals, too.

“If we have some slow periods on our reservation system, we will periodically run two for one and pitcher deals,” he said. “Like us on Facebook and you’ll have a chance to claim these deals.” https://www.facebook.com/GolfOMax
