Golf Karma: have fun and benefit local charities

Golf Karma is defined as enjoying a round of golf for the benefit of local charities; expanded definition is playing golf and winning without foot wedges and improper use of erasers.

“I have a tip that can take five strokes off anyone's golf game: it's called an eraser.” ~ Arnold Palmer

Do you love to play golf as you help raise money for local charities? If so, the Links for the Legacy 2011 at Fox Hollow is the event for you.

The four person scramble can be played with an existing foursome or single players will be grouped to create a foursome. Players of all levels are welcome.

With three betting holes and a Legacy hole worth $1,000 to the player who makes a hole in one, this event will be fun and rewarding even if Mulligans, foot wedges and erasers aren’t allowed. Prizes for the longest drive for both women and men and closest to the pin will also be awarded. Each member of the winning team will receive a $100 gift certificate from the Fox Hollow Club House. The 2nd and 3rd place team members will receive gift certificates worth $75 and $50, respectively.

All players will also get lunch and breakfast, a free golf shirt valued at $50 and drink vouchers compliments of Lakewood Legacy Foundation and the Denver West Kiwanis. Everyone can be a winner with an exciting variety of items that will be available at the silent auction and raffle.

Funds raised benefit local charitable organizations such as the Jeffco Action Center, Helping Hearts & Hands, Bridgeway, Casa, Lakewood Horse Patrol and many others.

If you are unable to play you can still benefit from this fundraiser by sponsoring a hole or making a donation. Contact us for available sponsorship opportunities. Helping others helps everyone win. Visit LakewoodLegacy.org for more information or call 303-989-4472.
