Golden State Warriors interview Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw

Things are starting to get interesting in Lakerland with the Los Angeles Lakers officially looking for the successor of arguably the greatest head coach of all-time. Even though the Lakers will never be able to replace a coach like Phil Jackson, the storied franchise is definitely  not making rash decision as they taking their time to decide who is the right man for the job.

The front runner for the vacant head coaching position in Los Angeles is without a doubt Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw. There is no question that Shaw would take the job without hesitation if offered, but with the Lakers have been looking elsewhere before they hire in-house.

With big-name head coaching candidates like Mike Brown, Jeff Van Gundy, Mike Dunleavy Sr. and Rick Adelman as his competition, Brian Shaw has been keeping his options open. Recently, the Golden State Warriors reached out to the Lakers assistant coach to interview for the head coaching vacancy in the Bay Area.

Much like the Lakers, the Warriors also have their fair share of head coaching candidates. The front runners for the Warriors head coaching job have been former Boston Celtics great Kevin McHale, Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Dwane Casey and Boston Celtics assistant coach Lawrence Frank.

Even though Brian Shaw probably won't be a serious candidate for the Warriors, this interview shows he is open to going elsewhere if the Lakers don't give him the opportunity to take over for the Zen Master.
