But that’s not all Elba has on his plate. Since his work on “The Wire,” Elba has worked with Beyonce, acted/performed on stage alongside Jill Scott, had an illicit affair with Laura Linney’s Cathy Jamison on “The Big C,” appeared as Heimdall in “Thor,” and was part of an ensemble cast in “Takers” that included singers Chris Brown andT.I.
And did I mention Elba also produces the web series “Milk + Honey?”
But don’t expect Idris to rest on his laurels--he’s got more than a few projects cooking in the oven. Already, trailers for the latest “Ghost Rider” film show Elba acting opposite Nicholas Cage, but Elba says you should expect to see even more of his work in the coming years.
"'Thor 2' for sure," Elba told MTV. "'Avengers,' we're not sure about, but 'Thor 2' we're going at it again."
Elba is also currently shooting “Pacific Rim,” a Guillermo del Toro movie that involves monsters and robots.
“Guillermo's a genius, and the film we're making is a huge film,” Elba added.
