Not knowing what would be coming out of the mouth of controversial host Ricky Gervais, I don't think many parents expected the Golden Globes to be exactly PG. However, even if you muted his portion, (which was actually muted in some spots by the network,) it wasn't exactly free of adult humor.
Just after Seth Rogen let out the comment, "Hello, I'm Seth Rogen and I'm currently trying to conceal a massive erection," the camera panned over to nominee Jodie Foster who sat with her two sons, Charlie and Christopher, on her lap.
And if that one slipped by any young viewers, Clooney later commented on his fellow nominee's frontal nudity scenes. Many young would-be viewers were likely in bed as it aired. If not, they got a little lesson in male anatomy along with the celebrity eye candy.
