While the hosts of the ‘Today Show’ (Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Natalie Morales) fought chills as they stood on the red carpet greeting show attendees, viewers could tell by the pre-Globe interviews that the evening was going to be great.
The Golden Globes Awards’ show was filled with surprising, revealing and funny moments. From “Hillary Clinton’s husband” showing up on stage (as noted by Amy Peohler to co-host Tina Fey), to Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig’s hilarious presentation of the award for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy or Musical, hosts and presenters kept the audience laughing and entertained. Probably the most memorable moment from the evening will be Jodi Foster’s revelation of being a lesbian, indicating she had already come out ‘about a thousand years ago’.
Another interesting moment of the evening came during Ferrell and Wiig’s award presentation. The camera spanned the audience as they were rolling over in laughter at the two former SNL co-stars, all except Tommy Lee Jones, who looked as though he was ready to re-enact his “Fugitive” role and snatch the two off stage and throw them in jail. Has he ever played a role where he’s actually smiled; does anyone even know what his teeth look like??
Taylor Swift is definitely making a turn-around in appearance since break-up with Harry Styles. During the People’s Choice Awards, Swift wore a stunning white gown from the Ralph Lauren Collection. At the Golden Globes she wore an even more dramatic fitted, backless Donna Karan Atelier eggplant gown.
Looking over the audience, quite a few top-stars were in attendance and looking great, including Denzel Washington with wife Pauletta, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hugh Jackman, Bill Murray, Ben Affleck, George Clooney, Quentin Tarrantino (who gave the most unusual, garbled award acceptance speech), Sophia Vergara, Robert Pattinson, Mel Gibson and Bradley Cooper.
