Claire Danes has always been relatively slim; if she has ever had to seriously struggle with weight in her life, we haven't seen it as fans. Still, Claire Danes looked absolutely amazing Sunday night at the 2013 Golden Globes, even more so when you consider she gave birth a month ago. Factor in the fact that she won her category for her work on "Homeland" and had her baby backstage, and we can bet it's been a pretty great night for Ms. Danes.
Since her appearance on the red carpet Sunday afternoon, people haven't been able to stop talking about how amazing that Claire Danes post-baby body looked in that gorgeous (and obviously carefully-chosen) Versace gown.
Easily landing on best dressed lists following the 2013 Golden Globes on Jan. 13, Claire Danes has some clever ruching, good genes and possibly spanx to thank for her super-successful after-baby return to couture. The scarlet-hued Versace design wrapped itself around the Golden Globe winner's curves, and positively refused to quit. There was no question: women all over America want the Claire Danes post-baby body.
So, how did she get it? Well, we're not sure, but we can tell you this: it couldn't have hurt that she didn't seem to have gotten very big in the first place. I briefly interviewed Danes at the 2012 Emmy Awards when she was six-months-pregnant with her little bundle of joy. This was in late September (Danes gave birth in December 2012), and she still looked tiny and perfect. From the front, her dress hid her baby bump beautifully, and the rest of her still looked very proportionate and toned. (Check out Danes in the sunny, slimming yellow gown at the 2012 Emmys in the video above.)
That still doesn't mean the new mom might not have had some assistance from the female celebrity's best friend on red carpet day: control-style undergarments. Whether she went Spanx-free or was wrapped up tighter than a sausage in a casing under that playful faux-wrap ruching, the gown looked flawless and so did she.
